How To Lose Weight & Still Drink Alcohol

I wanted to talk about losing weight while still drinking alcohol and how it can be done. It’s going to take the right mindset and trying to drink in moderation.

WINE AND HIGH CALORIE DRINKS

I only drink beer and whiskey sometimes and I was still able to lose the 50lbs by cutting back a little. Imagine never drinking again??? lol. Along with eating more protein and on a low-cal intake, not diet because I had no set rules, I was still able to drink occasionally.

I stayed off Wine and cocktail drinks because they have the most calories and are loaded with sugars, more than other alcohol beverages. Certain wines such as Sweet Dessert Wine, has double the calorie count in a single shot!

 

So if you are a wine drinker and like 2 glasses a night, cut it down to 1 and you will notice a huge difference and no, you don’t have to cut it out completely just watch your intake and the calories if you can.

  • 5 OUNCE GLASS CHAMPAGNE (91 CALS)

  • 1.5 OUNCE SHOT OF 80 PROOF LIQUOR (98 CALS)

  • 5 OUNCE GLASS WHITE WINE (101-120 CALS)

  • 12 OUNCE BOTTLE OF LIGHT BEER (102 CALS)

  • 5 ONCE GLASS OF RED WINE (104-124 CALS)

  • 1.5 OUNCE SHOT OF 90 PROOF LIQUOR (109 CALS)

  • 1.5 OUNCE SHOT OF 100 PROOF LIQUOR (125 CALS)

  • 12 OUNCE BOTTLE OF REGULAR BEER (152 CALS)

When trying to lose weight and still drink, you will have to watch your calorie intake considering there are hundreds of calories depending on what you like to drink. You will have to think in moderation, I would drink a few beers after work almost every night but then I cut down to 1 or 2, then I cut down to a few times a week but never cut it rights out. I’ve been on diets before where they want you to cut out everything and that didn’t work so I’ve been trying my own way.

 

DON’T DRINK ON A EMPTY STOMACH

When drinking on a regular basis you will have to find a happy medium. Make sure you are eating enough food and not replacing your calories with alcohol calories. If you’re on a low-cal intake, drinking too much can lead to mindless eating. If you are going out drinking for the night make sure you eat a good healthy meal or a snack with lots of protein and fiber before you start your evening. Your body will appreciate this in the morning lol. ????

Alcohol does not stay in your body, it passes with all the other foods but it does slow down the rate at which you digest the food and nutrients and it lowers the body’s fat oxidation rate. So most fitness people are against drinking at all ( Studies have shown that people intend to eat more when there drinking. So it will take longer to lose weight if you’re drinking too much or too many fruity drinks.

 MOJITO

  • 1 CUP CRUSHED ICE

  • 12 FRESH MINT LEAVES

  • 1/4 CUP WHITE RUM (96 CALS)

  • 2 TABLESPOONS CLUB SODA (0 CALS)

GIN & SODA 

  • 2 OUNCES GIN (140 CALS)

  • 2 OUNCES SODA WATER (0 CALS)

  • 4 OUNCES CLUB SODA (0 CALS)

  • 1 LIME WEDGE OR TWIST

  • A SQUEEZE OF YOUR FAVORITE FRESH FRUIT (LEMON, ORANGE, LIME)

MARTINI

  • 1 OUNCE GIN OR VODKA (80 CALS)

  • 1 OUNCES OF DRY VERMOUTH (32 CALS)

  • A FEW DASHES OF ORANGE BITTERS (10 CALS)

DIET RUM

  • 1 OUNCE RUM (96 CALS, NO SUGAR OR CARBS)whiskey healthy drink

  • DIET COKE, HALF CAN (120 CALS)

1 SHOT WHISKEY/BOURBON AND SCOTCH

  • 1 OUNCE WHISKEY/BOURBON AND SCOTCH (104 CALS)

  • .3 GRAMS OF CARBS AND .3 GRAMS OF SUGAR

Try having a Manhattan by adding sweet vermouth and bitters to your whiskey, If you donèt want it straight.

PINK TEQUILA

  • 1 OUNCE TEQUILA (104 CALS)

  • FRESH SQUEEZED GRAPEFRUIT JUICE

  • A SPLASH OF LIME JUICE

MICHELOB ULTRA BEER

  • 1 BOTTLE ( 95 CALS)

  • A SLICE OF LIME

BUD SELECT 55

  • 1 BOTTLE (55 CALS)

  • 1 BOTTLE (64 CALS)

  • BEST BY ITSELF

 HAVE THE RIGHT MINDSET

To reach your goal keep in mind that too much alcohol is going to slow down your process a lot. If you keep yomindfulness healthy drinksur mind focused on your goal and don’t over drink (haha) you can still have a couple cold ones when you want. I do!

For all you wine drinkers out there a glass of wine a night is not going to affect your weight lose goal just remember all in moderation. For the most part stay away from mixers there packed with sugars and will mess up your goals, drinks like vodka lemonade and peach schnapps etc.
